高等院校是科学研究的一支重要方面军。在这支队伍中,有一个由十一人组成的集体。他们胸怀兴农大志,心向八亿农民,用自己的智慧和汗水创造了优异的成绩——全国485万亩棉田试验应用他们的研究成果,增产皮棉40多万担,净收益约六千万元。这个集体就是华中农学院土化系农业化学教研室棉花硼肥研究组。今年3月19日,在湖北省教育局的主持下,来自中国科学院、中国农业科学院等单位的专家和13个省市的农业生产科技人员共同签署了鉴定意见,他们一致认为这项研究成果“具有创造性的意义”、是“教学、科研和推广相结合的一个范例。”
