In 1981, English-German writer Elias Canetti won the Nobel Prize in Literature. After that, the domestic scholars started to translate and study the writer. However, as one of the key words of Carnegie’s writing, “Transfiguration” thought, for a long time almost no one mentioned in the domestic academia. The article begins with Carnetti’s miscellaneous notes and sorts out Canetti’s distortion view. He believes that the “deformation” originating from the mythological story is Canetti’s counterattack to the 20th century scientific rationality and the abandonment of the technological world . At the same time, the article also analyzes the use of the concept of deformation in his creation in combination with Carnetti’s novels, dramas and biographies.
