晶体生长已从一种技艺成长为一门迅速发展的边缘学科。广大晶体生长工作者在从事晶体生长工作时,经常遇到大量的工艺技术困难问题和各种宏观和微观的晶体缺陷。为了认识和解决这些问题,必需吸收和借鉴国内外同行的经验,特别是要依靠把长期研究生产积累的经验上升为晶体生长理论的指导作用。在理论指导下进行晶体生长实践,就能减少盲目性。国内外涉及晶体生长的文献资料浩瀚,论著也不少。但体系清楚,物理概念明确,深入浅出,理论联系实际的晶体生长理论专著却不多见。我国自己培养的第一代晶体生长科学工作者南京大学闵乃本副教授
