A Brief History of Time is the title of a documentary taken by Errol Morris, one of the representatives of the New Records Film in the United States, in the early 90’s. The film attempts to explain how Stephen Stiefen, a contemporary theoretical physicist in Britain, Stephen Hawking’s scientific theory. How to use film to explain pure science? This is Maurice’s new challenge for himself. It is worth mentioning that Stephen Spielberg is the executive producer of the film, because after disagreeing with some of Morris’s views, his name was deleted from the film’s staff list. The film is titled “A Brief History of Time,” a brief account of Hawking’s popular book “A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to the Black Hole”, which expresses his scientific theory. Hawking is considered the most prominent theoretical physicist since the world’s Einstein. He is currently a professor of mathematics at New England University at Cambridge. In A Brief History of Time, he pointed out the limitations of today’s human understanding of physics and the nature of space-time, with a keen insight to show people a “world picture” of the development of human science. Hawking is also concerned about the development of contemporary philosophy, thinking that philosophers before the 19th century used the entire human knowledge, including science, as their field of study and discussed issues such as whether the universe was open or not. But in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, “philosophers narrow the scope of their question so much that even Wittgenstein, the most famous philosopher of the century, said:” The only task of philosophy is linguistic analysis. Aristotle arrived
