A new German study found eating spinach helps prevent dementia. Researchers at Ulm conducted a comparative study of 74 mild Alzheimer’s patients aged 65-90 and 158 healthy subjects. The results showed that compared with healthy participants, patients with Alzheimer’s serum vitamin C and β-carotene serum concentrations were significantly lower. However, there was no such difference in the levels of other antioxidants such as vitamin E, lycopene and coenzyme Q10 between the two groups.
