In recent years, the demand for blood and its products has increased. However, it follows that the high blood use rate exceeds the blood donation rate, especially for the first time blood donors. This puts pressure on blood donation departments and hospitals, especially in the winter. Unless large amounts of blood are collected, the government will not succeed in canceling waiting for blood transfusions. The research project, funded by the Welsh Blood Service Center, uses a multi-factor investigation methodology to determine the environmental and social factors that influence blood donors who do not have blood donations again. The study may be the largest in this type of research and is based on surveys of current and lost blood donors (re: current 4,500 blood donors, 900 lost blood donors) and in different locations (urban, semi-agricultural).
