《古书版本学概论》是版本学方面不可不读的一本著作,因为该书不同于一般的版本理论著作,它主要侧重于版本鉴定、版本的造伪与鉴别,同时对版本的著录与编目也有一定的介绍,这是很多版本学著作所没有的。尽管该书的利用价值很高,但是也不乏小的失误,在此结合严佐之先生的《古籍版本学概论》一书来谈论该书重要影响的同时,也对该书的不足之处做简单的列举,望读者今后注意。
