1974年10月,在周恩来总理的亲切关怀和毛泽东主席的亲自过问下,我自林彪、江青一伙炮制出台“杨余傅事件”冤案,被送往沈阳丧失自由7年之久后终于回到北京。1975年4月,中央军委任命我为北京军区第一副司令员,使我重新获得为党工作的机会,也因此获得了一个从领导高层的角度参与和目击我们党和国家如何度过1976年前后的非常时期,以及在邓小平同志领导下最终得以实现伟大转折的宝贵机会。
