The evolution of literature, like species, has its constant inheritance, but also changes gradually with time or space. This article takes Malaysian Chinese Malay poetry creation as the research object, and puts it in the framework of the Chinese-Malaysian literary complex system. The study found that the Chinese Malay poetry encountered a sudden change around the late 19th and 20th centuries before and after the 1970s, specifically manifested in the shift from archaic poetry to new poetry and the replacement of writers. From the perspective of poetry, Banton created by Chinese descendants is the genre with the most variation.
