参与大湄公河次区域合作,是广西继成功举办首届中国-东盟博览会后进一步加强与东盟开展全面经济合作战略的又一重大举措,这将有利于进一步树立广西对外开放形象,提高广西对外开放水平；有利于进一步加强广西与大湄公河次区域五国的贸易、投资和开发合作：有利于进一步促进广西“开放型”经济发展和“走出去”战略的实施；有利于在更大的范围内利用国内外两种资源、两个市场,增强广西经济发展的动力和后劲,为广西经济的快速发展提供广阔的空间。
