跨海火力支援是解放军对台湾作战所要解决的最主要问题。从1996年以来,大陆媒体多次展示了以战术弹道导弹作为攻击台湾的火力战手段,通过几次演习和公开刊登的照片报道情况看,解放军跨海导弹火力作战的规模和模式要比展示的弹道导弹演习大得多。平均宽度130千米以上的台湾海峡是解放军进攻台湾的最大天险,也是台军防御所能利用的最好屏障。如此大的宽度,使解放军的进攻作战面临着前所未有的困难。利用导弹火力战能够跨越海峡精确打击台湾目标,摧毁台湾的防御体系,同时也是战场遮断的重要手段。跨海火力支援是解放军对台湾作战所要解决的最主要的问题
