本文认为，我国实行改革、开放以来，东部与西部经济发展差距呈现扩大趋势。从现阶段看，东、西部差距在一段时间有所扩大是必然的、难以避免的；但不能听其自然，任其继续扩大。解决东、西部差距的基本思路是：１．依靠四种力量．即西部充分发展，东部支援西部．西部广开门户，中央统筹协调；２．处理好三者关系，即改革、开放与稳定之间的关系；３．发挥两大优势．即资源和地缘优势；４．实现一个目标，即共同富裕的目标。
This article argues that since the implementation of the reform and opening up in our country, the gap between the economic development in the east and in the west has been widening. Judging from the current stage, it is inevitable and inevitable that the gap between the east and the west will expand over time; however, it can not be left to its own natural stage and allowed to continue to expand. The basic idea of solving the gap between the east and the west is: 1. Rely on four kinds of power. That is, the western part has fully developed and the eastern part has supported the western part. Wide open door in the west, central coordination; 2. Deal with the relationship between the three, that is, the relationship between reform, opening up and stability; 3. Play two major advantages. That is, resources and geographical advantages; 4. To achieve one goal, the goal of common prosperity.
