四月一日,山东省交通厅副厅长张大钧同志在全省企业承包工作会议上发言,提出了发展沿海交通的初步设想和五年目标。近年来,山东省地方交通得到了较快发展。一九八七年底,全省通车里程达三万七千五百三十公里,97.9%的乡镇和76.4%的行政村通了公路。其中一级公路二百六十八公里,居全国第四位;二级公路四千一百九十一公里,居全国第二位;高级次高级路面一万九千三百八十七公里,居全国第一位。港口19处,泊位86个,吞吐能力925万吨,是我国沿海地方港口密度最大的省。公路客运站点8940个,其中汽车站297个。全省拥有民用汽车28.6万辆,货车153073辆,居全国第一。拖拉机55万辆。营业性货车102454辆,客车7937辆。公路运输专业户5万多个,拥有货车2万多辆,占全省总营业性货车的22%,客车1970辆,占全省营业客车的24.8%。常年从事营运性拖拉机14.7万辆。民用船舶五十万吨位,其中远洋船只14
