建区十年来,龙岗区科技工作按照区委、区政府的工作思路和部署,坚持“科学技术是第一生产力”的思想,以科技招商为突破口,以发展高新技术产业为重点,以机制创新和技术创新为动力,大力实施“科教兴区”战略,科技事业全面发展,科学技术快速进步,综合实力显著增强,有力地推动了经济社会的持续快速发展和产业结构的调整优化。建区以来龙岗区高新技术产品产值以年均64％的速度递增,2002年预计可实现165亿元,比上年增长55.7％,占工业总产值的比重约40％。1997年以来连续被国家科技部授予“全国科技工作先进城区”称号,并被广东省评为推动科技进步先进单位。

Since 1997, it has successively been awarded the title of “National Advanced City for Scientific and Technological Work” by the Ministry of Science and Technology and was rated by Guangdong Province as an advanced unit for promoting scientific and technological progress.
