水因山活山因水动“白云瀑布天上来,清清白河敞襟怀,野鸭戏水游弋处,山峦处处百花开。”石城镇位于北京市密云县西北部,北迄白河谷地,东抵密云水库,西与怀柔交界。总面积252.8平方公里,海拔1414米的云蒙山座卧境内。是密云西线的旅游重镇。镇域有著名的黑龙潭、京都第一瀑、桃源仙谷、清凉谷等自然风景区10处,林木覆盖率达到了89.5%。
