In an 8-day factory trial, spruce SGW pulp was bleached with sodium tetramethylphosphorothionate (THPS) (1.0 kg per ton of pulp) to the sodium dithionite (Y) resulting in an increase in the average ISO whiteness of the pulp 2.0 to 2.3 percentage points, and this process did not produce any damage to the bleach plant and the paper machine.
