从Ｇｏｆｆｍａｎ的交际理论入手，采用“实证研究”的方法，对汉语电话会话的结束方式作了探讨，并着重区别了需要说“再见”和可以不说“再见”的场合及其制约因素。旨在发现人们在电话交际中所遵循的行为准则及交际策略，同时也为英汉电话会话的对比分析提供研究基础。
Starting from the communicative theory of Goffman, this paper uses the method of “empirical research” to discuss the ending of the Chinese telephone conversations and emphasizes the distinction between the need to say goodbye and the goodbye. The purpose is to find out the code of conduct and communication strategies that people follow in telephone communication and to provide the basis for the comparative analysis of English and Chinese telephone conversations.
