编辑同志: 我们去年曾给贵刊去信谈过我们对原子吸收光谱分析中“检出限”的一些想法。在该信发表后我们看到了国际纯粹与应用化学联合会(IUPAC)于1975年通过,1976年发表的《光谱化学分析中的名词、符号、单位及其用法——Ⅱ.数据解释》及《光谱化学分析中的名词、符号、单位及其用法——Ⅲ.火焰光谱分析法和有关的无焰法》。这两份资料中都包括有关于“检出限”、“灵敏度”等名词的新规定。这些新规定和我们信中提到的在1969年第二届国际原子吸收光谱会议上有人提出的规定(以下简称“旧规定”有如下不同之点:
Editor’s Comrade: Last year we wrote a letter to your magazine about some of our ideas on “detection limits” in atomic absorption spectroscopy. After the letter was published, we saw the “Nouns, Symbols, Units and Their Use in Spectrochemical Analysis - II. Data Interpretation” and the “ Nomenclature, symbols, units and their usage in spectrochemical analysis - Ⅲ. Flame spectral analysis and related flameless method. Both of these materials include new provisions on such terms as ”detection limit“ and ”sensitivity“. These new rules differ from those mentioned in our letter at the 2nd International Conference on Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy in 1969 (hereinafter referred to as the ”old rules") as follows:
