地处桂西北的乐业、凌云、田林等县,大部分乡(镇)属于高寒山区,海拔在800m以上,常年平均气温较低,土壤比较贫瘠,玉米产量较低,常年播种面积占总耕地面积的75%以上。为探索高产优质、抗逆性强的玉米新品种,2008年在浪平乡塘合村进行了25个热带玉米新品种的区域试验,从中筛选出抗病、高产、优质、熟期适中的优良品种,为今后的进一步试验、示范和推广打下良好基础。
