2017年4月9日,美国联合航空公司以机票超售为由(后证实为添加乘务人员)迫使一名已经登机的亚裔(后被证实为越南侨民)乘客下机,机场警察的举动导致该乘客嘴部受伤流血。事发后,美国联合航空公司非但没有及时帮助消费者解决问题,反而赞扬了航空公司工作人员的做法。整个事件经美国有线新闻网等媒体报道后,在中美两国的社交网站上引发广泛讨论。
On April 9, 2017, United Airlines canceled an attempt by a United Airlines carrier to surrender an air ticket (later confirmed as a flight attendant) to disembark the passenger of an already checked-in Asian (later confirmed as a Vietnamese national) by the Airport Police Causing the passenger’s mouth to hurt and bleed. After the incident, United not only failed to help consumers solve the problem in time, but praised the airline staff approach. After the incident was reported by the CNN and other media, it triggered extensive discussions on social networking sites in China and the United States.
