博优５０１是由优选的不育系博Ａ与杂交后代选育而成的恢复系５０１（ＩＲ５０×０５占）配组而成的杂交稻优质组合。蛋白质含量８．６２％，直链淀粉２２．１４％，胶稠度５６毫米，糊化温度中等，属二级优质米。成穗率６３．１％，结实率９１．１％，平均每穗１１８．５粒，千粒重２１克，弱感光性。桂南７月上旬播种１０月下旬收获，生育期１１５天，可避过寒露风。省级区试平均产量每亩４２７．２２公斤，位居第一。桂南各地多年试种一般亩产４００－５００公斤。适宜在北纬２４．５度以南的地区推广种植。
