闵桥油田阜三段的原油主要来源于阜二段生油岩。研究区内主要发育三角洲前缘亚相沉积。储层岩石类型以长石岩屑石英细、粉砂岩为主。油气主要运移通道为断层和砂岩储层。通过对成藏规律分析,认为继承性古构造控制闵桥油田阜三段油气成藏,油藏以反向屋脊断块油藏为主,是由于断层活动而形成的次生油藏;沉积微相控制油气的富集,平面上油气分布集中,剖面上多层系含油。闵中地区闵2井北块是油气有利的聚集区块。
