美方停战谈判代表於七月二十六日片面宣布休会七天,蓄意拖延停战谈判,而在休会期间又屠杀我方被俘人员。八月三日双方代表团大会复会之后,美方代表对遗俘问题拒绝讨论,又一次无理地提出休会七天到八月十一日。这些行动进一步暴露了美国侵略者拖延和破坏停战谈判的阴谋。
On 26 July, the U.S. armistice negotiators announced that they should adjourn the meeting for seven days and deliberately delay the armistice negotiations, while slaughtering our captured prisoners during the inter-sessional period. After the resumption of the two delegations’ conventions on August 3, representatives of the United States refused to discuss the issues of the prisoners and once again unreasonably proposed to adjourn for seven days to August 11. These actions further expose the plot of the U.S. aggressors to delay and undermine the armistice negotiations.
