自从P.Yeh和A.Yariv等人提出Bragg光纤的设想以来,Bragg光纤的特性究竟如何,能否实用一直是国内外有关学者所关注的课题之一。本文从传输损耗的角度出发,导出了Bragg光纤的相位常数及衰减常数的公式。计算结果表明,Bragg光纤难以实现单模传输,模式滤波的特性亦不佳,而且它的弯曲半径需在3米以上,在光纤传输系统中没有实用意义。但作为激光器的谐振腔,可以在极低损耗的同时获得较高的增益。
Since P. Yeh and A. Yariv put forward the concept of Bragg optical fiber, the properties of Bragg optical fiber have become one of the topics concerned by scholars at home and abroad. In this paper, the formulas of the phase constants and the decay constants of Bragg fibers are derived from the viewpoint of transmission loss. The calculation results show that it is difficult to realize single mode transmission in Bragg optical fiber, and the characteristic of mode filtering is also poor. Its bending radius needs to be more than 3 meters, which has no practical significance in optical fiber transmission system. However, as a laser resonator, high gain can be obtained with very low loss.
