位置管理包括位置更新和位置跟踪,其成本也是由相应这两部分的成本所组成。位置管理的目标在于减小跟踪和更新的总成本。本文给出了个人通信业务中一种基于修正前向指针和呼叫更新的移动通信位置管理策略。该修正策略较之于IS-41或GSM标准中的管理策略,可以明显减少本位置寄存器(HLR)和访问位置寄存器(VLR)间的位置更新信息量。其中,前向指针是基于先前HLR建立的,呼叫到达则对位置更新,最大指针链长度为K。分析结果同文献[6]的结果相比较表明:对于远离于其HLR的移动通信用户,本策略在几乎没有增加位置跟踪成本的情况下成功地减少了位置更新。
Location management, including location updates and location tracking, the cost is also composed of the cost of these two parts. The goal of location management is to reduce the total cost of tracking and updating. This paper presents a mobile communication location management strategy based on modified forward pointers and call updates in personal communication services. Compared with the management strategy in the IS-41 or GSM standards, this modification strategy can significantly reduce the amount of location update information between the HLR and the VLR. Among them, the forward pointer is based on the previous HLR established, the call arrives on the location update, the maximum pointer chain length K. The results of the analysis are compared with the results in [6] and show that for mobile users far away from their HLR, the strategy successfully reduces the location update with almost no additional location tracking costs.
