一九六六年,‘文革’初起,家父龍榆生預感可能遭‘抄家’之難,遂將秘藏多年朱彊邨先生所授之硯交常來家中習詞的湯靖先生,囑其妥善保管。二○一四年初,湯先生突發心臟病去世。湯夫人鄔美娣女士來電告知我夫人邵慎平這一不幸消息,同時也提及硯臺之事。六月廿九日,我和夫人陪同詞學名家徐培均、張宏生等一行七人前往鄔女士家中觀看。考慮到北京香山正在籌建‘龍氏詞苑——風雨龍吟室’,家居北京的四姐龍雅宜與我商議,建議鄔女士將此硯放至風雨龍吟室永久保存,並公開展出。鄔女士欣然同意。九月二十四號,捐贈儀式在北京舉行。
