民主是一个古老而常新的话题。邓小平关于民主政治的思想是建设中国特色社会主义理论的重要组成部分。邓小平的民主思想主要包括三个部分:第一,民主是社会主义的内在属性,没有民主就没有社会主义,就没有社会主义的现代化;第二,社会主义民主是真正的人民当家作主,是历史上做广泛的民主;第三,民主既不能从真空中构建、也不能一蹴而就,民主的实现是一个漫长而艰巨的过程,民主建设要在党的领导下,从我国的实际情况出发,一步一步地前进。
