本文报导几年来对若干短命种子进行贮藏生理特性研究的初步结果。按照种子的贮藏生理特性,短命种子可分为两个类型:一为耐干藏种子,另一为忌干藏种子。对不同类型种子生命力的控制必须根据不同原理采取不同的方法;种子寿命的长短是相对的概念,它取决于种子的固有特性和贮藏的环境条件;各个贮藏环境因素之间对种子生命力的影响是相互制约的,在某种程度上,一种因素对种子的不利影响可通过另一种因素的调节来得到弥补;杨、柳种子因脱水猛烈遭受伤害的机制,已从解剖学角度初步加以阐明。
