Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of scarlet fever in Shijiazhuang City from 2004 to 2010 and provide basis for prevention and control work. Methods The data were from the epidemic data of Scarlet Fever from 2004 to 2010 of “National Infectious Disease Epidemic Reporting Information System”, and the population, region and time distribution of scarlet fever were analyzed. Results (1) The average incidence of scarlet fever in Shijiazhuang City from 2004 to 2010 was 2.28 / 100 000, with the highest incidence of 27.04 / 100000 in the age group of 5 to 9 years old, followed by the incidence of 10.28 / The incidence of 10-year-old group was 2.43 per 100 000. The lowest incidence of over-15-year-old group was 0.07 per 100 000. There were more males than females. Occupational distribution characteristics were the most with the average number of students being 38.57%, followed by the average number of children 30.42% and scattered children average 29.70%. (2) The incidence of urban areas were significantly higher than the county township. (3) The incidence of scarlet fever all year round, there is a clear seasonal, spring and winter in 2004 and 2007 double the peak, that is, from April to June there is a clear peak of the Spring Festival, November to January the following January a clear winter peak There was only one spring peak in 2008 and only one winter peak in 2010, while the incidence in 2009 remained at a relatively low level. Conclusions Male children aged 5 ~ 9 years old in urban area of Shijiazhuang City are the high risk groups for the onset of scarlet fever. Prevention and control work should be done in advance for the high risk groups before the peak incidence of each year.
