Introduction The Creed mine is one of the richest epithermal deposits in the United States and the only epithermal deposit of precious metals in the western United States. It has been estimated that the mine has produced 80.0 × 10 ~ 6 ounces of silver (1 ounce = 31.104g), 150,000 ounces of gold and 33 × 10 ~ 7 pounds of base metal (1 pound = 0.4536kg) since mining in 1890. Past research efforts have focused mainly on the OH veins, while little attention has been paid so far to the rest of the mine.
