一提起《红星照耀中国》(即《西行漫记》),无论中国人还是美国人都会想到埃德加·斯诺。斯诺是中国人民的诚挚朋友,他对中国人民和美国人民怀有坚定不移的信心,他数十年如一日,为促进中美关系正常化作出了不可磨灭的贡献,为增进两国人民的了解和友谊倾注了毕生的心血,被称誉为“中美人民间的活桥梁”。斯诺不仅是中国人民也是世界人民和平友好的使者。1928年,斯诺从美国来到上海,目睹了遭受列强瓜分和日本帝国主义蹂躏的中国,亲身体验了中国人民水深火热的苦难生活,从而理解、同情并支持中国革命。
When mentioning “Red Star Shines on China” (that is, “The Way of the West”), both Chinese and Americans think of Edgar Snow. Snow is a sincere friend of the Chinese people. He cherishes unswerving confidence in the Chinese people and the American people. He has made indelible contributions to the normalization of Sino-U.S. Relations over the past decades. To enhance the friendship between the two peoples Understanding and friendship devoted his life’s efforts, has been hailed as “living bridge between the people of China and the United States ”. Snow is not only an angel of peace and friendship between the Chinese people as well as the people in the world. In 1928, Snow came to Shanghai from the United States and witnessed China partitioned by the powers and ravaged by Japanese imperialism and experienced first-hand the misery life of the Chinese people in order to understand, sympathize with and support the Chinese revolution.
