这里建议,我国应尽快做出决策,尽可能集中较大的科技力量,致力寸“加速器驱动的次临界装置的先进的新型核能”的开发和研究。 这一先进的新型核能将有如下一些突出优点:1)不需富集浓缩铀工业,能直接燃烧天然铀或天然钍等核燃料;2)大幅度提高天然铀或钍的“一次燃烧”的燃耗;3)大幅度压低甚而完全消除长寿命放射性元素(如锕系元素等)积累污染;4)大幅度削减核废料“后处理”的数量;5)有远较其它核能更为安全可靠的“核安全”;6)能经济有效地大量生产对人
Here we suggest that our country should make its decision as soon as possible and concentrate as much scientific and technological strength as possible on the development and research of “advanced new nuclear energy in accelerator-driven subcritical devices.” The advanced new nuclear energy will have the following salient advantages: 1) direct enrichment of nuclear fuels such as natural uranium or natural thorium without enriched uranium industry; 2) substantial increase in “one-shot” combustion of natural uranium or thorium 3) drastically reduce or even eliminate the accumulation of long-lived radioactive elements (such as actinides); 4) substantially reduce the amount of “reprocessing” of nuclear waste; and 5) have far more safety and reliability than other nuclear energy “Nuclear safety”; 6) Mass production of manpower economically and effectively
