December 22, 2014 According to the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC), Europe’s chemical industry experienced sluggish growth in 2014 with sluggish demand on the one hand and high costs on the other. Concerns over high energy and raw material prices have prompted 14 major European chemicals companies and other energy-intensive companies to write to European Commission President Barroso urging the European Union to reconsider the region’s energy and climate policies.
