In order to effectively combat SARS, town councils and hospitals appear to have increased water use, but this is not the case. In fact, compared with the same period of last year, the water consumption of the municipalities in March-May this year dropped by 11% to 12%. As townhouses and hospitals have to spend more water to clean their homes during the SARS campaign, Congressman Zhan Shizhong (Poseidon Region) asked Minister of Environment and Development, Lim Shui-sheng, whether the government will test it.
