1996年,山东省诸多高层次代表团频繁出访,充分显示了山东省加强对外友好交往,进行经贸、文化交流与合作的强烈愿望。众多重要外国使者来访,充分显示了山东省作为东部沿海重点开放省份对海外人士巨大的吸引力。96年外商在山东投资出现新特点,累计批准外商投资企业21198家,合同外资额269.2亿美元,实际利用外资达106.2亿美元。96年山东外商投资企业出口额占据了全省出口总额的“竿壁江山”。东方桥头堡——日照和京九铁路的开通,为山东省对外开放带来了新的机遇。
In 1996, many high-level delegations from Shandong Province frequently visited Shandong Province, fully demonstrating the strong desire of Shandong Province to step up its friendly exchanges with other countries and conduct economic, trade and cultural exchange and cooperation. The visit of many important foreign envoys fully demonstrates the tremendous attraction of Shandong Province as a key open province on the eastern coast to overseas residents. In 1996, foreign investors made new investments in Shandong and 21,198 foreign-invested enterprises were approved, with the contractual foreign investment of 26.92 billion U.S. dollars and the actually utilized foreign investment of 10.62 billion U.S. dollars. In 1996, the volume of exports by foreign-invested enterprises in Shandong accounted for the total amount of exports in the province. The opening of the east bridgehead - Rizhao and the Beijing-Kowloon Railway brought new opportunities for the opening up of Shandong Province.
