中国人民解放军二六四医院创建于炮火纷飞的1949年,其前身为白求恩国际和平医院第三分院,现驻太原市桥东衔。医院展开床位600张,设35个科室,58个专业,担负5万余人的医疗保障任务,承担着第三军医大学、白求恩军医学院、山西医科大学、山西中医学院的临床教学任务,是一所集医、教、研于一体的大型综合性三级甲等医院。
