我局森林铁路共有204公里,承担木材运输和物资运输等任务。过去,森铁线路维修主要是用人力刨镐,需要劳力多、劳动强度大,生产效率低,质量也较差。在批林整风运动的推动下,遵照毛主席“我们必须打破常规,尽量采用先进技术”的教导,参照大铁养路的技术经验,结合森铁特点,试制成功了森铁捣固机。主要结构,包括相同的两部分,每部分主要部件有: 捣固架,是支承各工作部件的基体,架底有一对行走轮,卡在铁轨上前后通行。有两对小滑轮,能卡在下道器上,左右横向移动。架身是一钢管式立柱,靠立柱装有上下滑动的齿条。立柱上装有横梁与沿动齿条固定联结,可随齿条沿立柱上下滑动。
