In a series of recent articles, I mainly discuss whether it is appropriate to adopt different leadership styles in different types of projects: whether the leadership style of the project manager affects the success of the project and whether different leadership styles are appropriate for different types of projects. To answer this question, we need to understand what a project is. Last time I discussed the definition of project success and the criteria we judged whether the project was successful or not. In this installment, I discuss the factors that we can influence and increase the probability of project success. Including: the existing research results on the success factors of the project; two project success factor models; and the five necessary conditions for the project’s success.
