党中央、国务院在对今年的经济工作的全面部署中指出:“要不失时机地实施西部大开发战略,这直接关系到扩大内需,促进经济增长”,“现在研究实施西部大开发战略,条件基本具备,时机已经成熟。”实施这个战略是党中央总揽全局、面向新世纪作出的重大决策。 多年来,新闻媒介在宣传中西部、推动中西部经济发展、深化改革方面做了大量工作,取得了可喜的成绩。但面对新的形势,西部大开发的报道逐步升温,而且新的实践也需要西部大开发的报道不断调整思路,完善提高。我们组织的这组“中西部报道剖析与对策”的文章,即旨在总结以往新闻界中西部报道的成功经验,摸索规律,交流体会,同时探讨搞好今后西部大开发报道的思路和方法,以期和同行们一道长期地关注西部大开发的实践和报道的发展,为西部大开发创造更加良好的舆论环境。
