The BBVA Commercial Bank of Torremolinía, designed by the legorreta + legorreta architects in Mexico and Rogers stirk harbor + Partners in the United Kingdom, is nearing completion at a height of 235 meters and will be the tallest building in Mexico when completed. The building is located in Mexico City, the tallest building in the city of Torre in front of the government. The design team won the design competition for the project in 2009. The 50-storey building offers 78,600 square meters of BBVA commercial office space in this prime location, which can provide 4,500 employees working here. The building is designed to promote community-employee interaction. Set amidst a sky garden on every nine floors, it creates an outdoor space inside the tower and offers a meeting venue that offers a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view. Interior space for the geometric layout, reinterpretation of the traditional layout of the office space, to provide users with a wide range of efficient work environment. The façade design responds to the traditional Mexican architectural form, with interior and exterior systems creating a grid-like geometric design while optimizing natural daylight and thermal insulation. The building is expected to receive LEED Gold certification through the use of local materials, design and engineering solutions to optimize energy use and minimize environmental impact.
