继续工程教育是对科技人员的知识、技能进行补充、更新和再提高的高层次追加教育。由于形式灵活,内容针对性强,周期短、见效快,因而世界各国均把继续工程教育作为培养“应用型”人才的重要应变战略予以高度重视。我国继续工程教育起步虽然较晚,可是在经济建设大潮的推动下发展很快,并在实践中证明:广泛开展继续工程教育,不仅是迎接新技术革命挑战的大势所趋,也是广大科技工作者要求更新知识结
Continuing Engineering Education is a high-level supplementary education that supplements, renews and re-enhances the knowledge and skills of scientists and technicians.
