1983年10月18日17点53分,在北纬30°29′,东经102°42′的宝兴北西发生4.2级地震。宝兴县的陇东、盐井公社震感强烈,但无破坏。震前在宝兴周围120公里范围内,根据国家地震局验收的三口井(图1):即小金县川—07井(距震中约70公里)、沪定县川—01井(距震中约90公里)、石棉县川—02井(距震中约120公里)的连续观测资料分析,除沪定川—01井因受大渡河河水影响无异常显示外,其余二口井均记录到震前明显异常变化,据此曾在震前5天的10月13日提出过较明确的三要素
