汉英两种语言在结构上的差异实则是两种文化特质在语言层面上的反映。在文化研究中,爱德华·T.霍尔(Edward T.Hall)提出文化具有语境性,并认为中国文化是高语境文化而英美文化是低语境文化。本文在从字词构成、句式结构和语法的角度论证爱德华·T.霍尔观点的同时,指出其对大学英语教学的影响作用。
The structural difference between Chinese and English languages is actually a reflection of the two cultural traits on the linguistic level. In cultural studies, Edward T. Hall proposed that culture be contextualized and that Chinese culture is a high-context culture and Anglo-American culture a low-context culture. This thesis demonstrates Edward T Hall’s viewpoints from the aspects of word structure, sentence structure and grammar, and at the same time, points out its influence on college English teaching.
