桑枝为桑科植物桑的干燥嫩枝。春末夏初采收,去叶,趁鲜切片,晒干。以枝细、质嫩、切面色黄白者为佳。桑原产于我国中部,有近4000年的栽培史。桑垂直分布大都在海拔1200m以下,东北自哈尔滨以南;西北从内蒙古南部至新疆、青海、甘肃、陕西;南至广东、广西;西至四川、云南均有种植。其中,以长江中下游各地栽培最多。此外,朝鲜、蒙古、俄罗斯等国也有栽培。干燥的嫩桑枝呈长圆柱形,长短不一,直径0.5~lcm。外表灰黄色或灰褐色,有多数
