The game was invented by David Gail, a professor of mathematics at Brown University. It can be done with just one sheet of paper and two pens. The chessboard is composed of two color lattices, and the two color points are respectively arranged into two identical rectangles, which are staggered horizontally and vertically (as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2). Both sides of the game take the pens of the two colors respectively, alternately putting straight lines between two points of their own colors, and shortening the two sides of the rectangle.
