Objective To evaluate the significance of umbilical arterial blood gas analysis during labor. Methods A total of 100 pregnant women of single birth full term spontaneous delivery hospitalized in Dalian Maternity Hospital from March to October in 2011 were enrolled in this study. Fifty pregnant women with umbilical cord blood flow abnormalities (S / D> 2.5) Arterial blood gas analysis, 50 cases of normal (S / D ≤ 2.5) umbilical blood flow analysis of fetal blood under the same conditions, the two groups were routinely prenatal fetal electronic monitoring, postpartum Apgar score. Results There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) in the incidence of fetal electronic monitoring anomalies between the two groups, with significant differences in all the parameters of blood gas analysis (P <0.05). Conclusions Neonates with abnormal umbilical blood flow and normal Apgar score have the possibility of asphyxia. Apgar score and umbilical arterial blood gas analysis should be used to evaluate the prognosis of neonates.
