INTRODUCTION In the autumn of 1961, a teaching practice team of Shandong Geological College discovered a set of clastic sedimentary rock formations in the lower Permian Qixia Formation in the Kongshan area, about 28 km east of Nanjing, and its relation to the limestone section of the Upper Qixiaxia Formation Very close.
