Further experiments confirm the students' assertions and at the same time we also think that these experiments point us to a way of explaining this phenomenon. Although I have not heard of it before and I have found no reference, I believe that the fact described by the Tanzanian student may have been encountered by many. Mumba arrived at the University of Dar-es-Salaam a few weeks after addressing this question to me, detailing the fact that he had encountered as part of the earlier part of the article. He wrote in his own words, but made a little abridgement. His account of the dangers posed by authoritative physicists also raises an interesting question for physics teachers.
