2000年5月17日,中国短信诞生。二十一世纪前五年的传媒变化令人眼花缭乱,但没有什么能像手机这样的新媒介及其衍生物——短信一样,给我们的交流和沟通方式带来如此深刻的变化,以至于融入了我们的日常生活,成为“生活要件”,甚至改变了我们的生存状态。“顷刻间就可以把自己的信息传遍全世界的报刊和电讯,在一天之中所制造的神话,比前一个世纪所制造的还要多”,所有媒介的发展不过是“用时间消灭空间”。马克思对大众传播分析的精辟话语用在今天的短信传播上仍然光芒四射。五年来,短信不仅改变了传播形态,而且创造了“拇指经济”奇迹。回顾、总结和展望短信在我国的产生、发展和未来走势,对我们充分认识和开发短信所蕴涵的传播价值和经济价值具有重要意义。在5.17世界电信日之前,在中国短信五周年到来之际,我们特策划了此专题,以致纪念,以飨读者。
