国际舞台上的美国,人们是比较熟悉的。美国国内的政治、经济、文化等方面的情况怎样,美国人民对于许多重大国际问题的看法怎样,美国人民的思想、感情怎样,所谓“美国生活方式”究竟怎样,等等,也是大家所希望知道的。国内外关于这方面的介绍比较少。1955年10月,由“真理报”等报刊的记者七人组成的苏联新闻工作者代表团到美国访问,在11月到12月间,东西横穿美国作了33天的旅行。他们为各自的报刊写了通讯,“美国万里行”一书就是其中21篇报导的选辑。这些报导,无疑地将引起广大读者的兴趣。
